A smarter approach to crop protection

Let the plant defend itself.

Growers must produce high-quality crops while reducing inputs and facing unpredictable weather. UV Boosting takes a different approach: instead of targeting pathogens directly, it uses short UV-C flashes to stimulate the plant’s own natural defences.

Work smarter. Grow stronger.

How it works

A flash that activates natural defences.

UV-C is a high-energy, short-wave light. UV Boosting delivers it in controlled flashes, with a patented technique.

1

UV-C flash

A short, controlled emission of UV-C light stimulates the plant.

2

Metabolic activation

The plant temporarily activates its natural defence mechanisms, including a peak concentration of salicylic acid.

3

Faster response

The plant becomes better prepared to react to physical or biological attacks.

The objective is not to disinfect the crop. The objective is to strengthen the plant.

Benefits

One technology. Multiple benefits.

Stimulate natural defences

Activate the plant’s own defence mechanisms.

Reduce fungal pressure

Minimise the impact of fungal diseases.

Protect yield potential

Limit yield losses caused by frost and water stress.

Clean & residue-free

A physical treatment based on light, without chemical residues added by the treatment itself.

Weather-independent application

Designed for flexible treatment across changing weather conditions.

Cost-effective crop care

Support farm profitability through optimised crop protection.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

How does UV Boosting work?

Short, controlled UV-C flashes activate the plant’s metabolism and trigger a peak concentration of salicylic acid. The plant is then better prepared to react to physical or biological stress. The objective is not to disinfect the crop, but to strengthen the plant.

Which crops is it designed for?

The Helios range is designed for vineyards and small berries (Helios Vigne 1 row and 2 rows) and for orchards with a high leaf surface area, particularly apples and pears (Helios Orchard).

How many applications per season?

Typically 3 to 6 applications per season, approximately every 15 days during the early crop cycle, depending on the crop and the grower’s objectives.

Can it be used in any weather?

Yes. UV Boosting can be used in daylight or at night, in wind, fog or morning dew, so it fits easily into an integrated crop-management strategy.

Is it the same as UV-C disinfection?

No. UV-C disinfection kills accessible pathogens locally and needs frequent night-time passes. UV Boosting uses high-power, short flashes to stimulate a systemic response in the whole plant, with 3 to 6 tractor-mounted applications per season.
